- "The speakers made it feel cool to like maths, for a change."
| "This had more motivational impact on my students than anything I’ve seen in 30 years of teaching. A fantastic afternoon - thank you!" |
- "This was far better than I anticipated - a real treat"
- "All of my pupils and I were kept interested and entertained for 2¾ hours!"
- "This is the first trip I have organised. I feared the students would moan, but they were all very positive."
- "The event was truly inspirational - it really fired me up."
- "It was all really fantastically phenomenally interesting."
Plenty of evidence is emerging that our events are having a long term impact on schools. Here are just a few of the comments received when teachers have had a few months to reflect on Maths Inspiration events:
- "A year on, the students still remember the lectures. It was very useful for those with university interviews - it really gave them something 'interesting' to talk about."
- "All students enjoyed the event, and the impressive thing was the enthusiasm of students who were reluctant to come beforehand. It re-engaged them with maths and encouraged further discussion in lessons."
- "Last year's event was successful. There may be a number of factors, but record numbers from our school have applied to study maths at university this year, including three Oxbridge applicants."
